"The Premiership is the league to be in right now and I think it will be good for my career," he said as reported by The Sun.
Regardless of his desire, Appiah's current club Fenerbahce refuse to sell their star player.
Recent rumors have said they may be willing to let Appiah leave if they can secure Arsenal player Sol Campbell in a free transfer.
Campbell announced he will be leaving Arsenal and plans to finish his career abroad.
While Appiah made no comment about Campbell, he seemed confident his future was at the Emirates Stadium.
"No deal has been done yet but 50 per cent of me is coming to Arsenal," he said.
The 25-year-old midfielder attracted admirers including many of Europe's top sides such as Roma, Marseille and former club Juventus after his huge contribution to his country's World Cup campaign.
Appiah said he would prefer not to return to the Italian league, but wants to move to the Premiership and admitted playing in London "would be great".
"I prefer Arsenal, they are my number one choice," he said.
