Magath made history with Bayern Munich by leading the Bavarians to clinch the domestic double in two consecutive seasons after succeeding Ottmar Hitzfeld.
Magath, who joined Bayern from Stuttgart in 2004, expressed his delight regarding the extension.
"I'm pleased that the executive committee has this confidence in me and in my work," Magath told the club's official website on Monday.
"We have achieved together two successful years for the club, but this should not be the conclusion."
Bayern Chief Executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge gave credit to Magath's efforts at Bayern for the past two seasons.
"We are very lucky that this successful that this cooperation with Magath will be able to continue in the future," Rummenigge said.
