Follow-up – Osama Khairy: Ahli defender Emad Al-Nahhas will be sidelined for three months after rupturing ankle ligaments and breaking a metatarsal, the Egyptian champions said on Friday.

The international defender limped off the pitch during Hadi Khashaba's testimonial game against the Egyptian national team on Thursday after colliding with Mostafa Gaafar.

"Al-Nahhas underwent a quick surgery to fix the broken metatarsal," Ahli doctor Osama Ragaayi told FilGoal.com.

The injury is a major blow for Ahli who is missing instrumental midfielders Mohamed Barakat and Angola's Amaral Sebastiao Dag 'Gilberto'.

Shadi Mohamed is likely to replace Al-Nahhas starting from Sunday's Egyptian Super Cup clash with Enppi.

But Manuel Jose's side will have to play Algeria's JS Kabylie in the African Champions League later this month without Shadi or striker Emad Meteb, who've both been suspended for one African game.
