Ahli suffered another blow after playmaker Mohamed Abou-Treika was confirmed out for a month on Monday with a damaged knee cartilage.

The 25-year-old star picked up the injury during his side's 1-0 victory over Enppi in the Egyptian Super Cup on Sunday.

"I'll be out for a month after the scan showed that my right knee cartilage is injured," Abou-Treika told FilGoal.com on Monday.

He sustained the injury in the first-half but played through the injury and managed to score the winning goal in the 92nd minute.

Ahli physician Osama Ragaei told FilGoal.com that winger Tarek Al-Saied will also be sidelined for two weeks with the same injury.

These injuries hit Ahli just as they prepare for JS Kabylie game in the African Champions League.

Seven first-team players are set to miss the Group A clash in Cairo on Saturday.

Defenders Emad Al-Nahhas, Ahmed Sayed and Shadi Mohamed, midfielder Mohamed Barakat and striker Emad Meteb are also ruled out of the next game due to injuries and suspensions.

Following the Enppi game, Ahli Portuguese coach Manuel Jose blamed the team's compact schedule for the many injuries the players are suffering, adding that his players haven't had an off-season holiday for the past two years.

Despite the many injuries, Jose said he won't make any panic signings before the new season, adding that he is willing to wait until he finds a top quality player.
