A sports tribunal deprived champions Juventus of their last two Serie A titles for their role in the scandal.

AC Milan who finished as runners-up last season were not legible for the Scudetto title also for their part in the probe.

An appeals court upheld the decision to revoke Juve's titles and demote the club to Serie B while Milan will start the season with -8 points instead of the original 15 point penalty imposed on them.

The decision gave Inter, who finished third behind Juve and Milan, their 14th Italian league title, the first since 1989.

"I am fully satisfied by the awarding of the title to a club and team that behaved correctly," said Inter owner Massimo Moratti.

The three-man panel organized by FIGC president Guido Rossi that awarded Inter the Serie A title, also decided to keep the 2004-2005 title vacant.
