"He is a motivated player, he must only settle down," Spalletti was quoted as saying by Roma's official website.
Although he was one of White Hart Lane's most prominent stars, Mido couldn't secure a permanent move to Tottenham.
After rejecting an offer to join Blackburn Rovers, the Egyptian international striker is set to rejoin Roma, who will play in the Champions League next season.
Despite the Roma's quest to sign either French striker David Trezeguet or Montenegrin Mirko Vucinic, Spalletti's statements could be a sign that Mido will play a part in Roma's next season campaign.
"I have seen Mido play few times and he's physically good and also very good at heading," Spalletti added.
"We will try to give him a different preparation to allow him to enter with the rest of the team."
The 23-year-old joined Roma from French side Marseille in 2004 but failed to impress or secure a starting place with the Italian capital side.
