Egyptian striker Ahmed Hossam 'Mido' took the pitch in AS Roma's colors for the first time after returning from an 18-month loan to Premiership outfit Tottenham.

Mido featured as a substitute in Roma's 1-0 defeat to Portuguese giants Porto in a pre-season friendly on Sunday.

Roma defender Philippe Mexes scored a 38th minute own-goal to give the Portuguese champions the win.

The Italian side was without International players Francesco Totti, Daniele De Rossi and Simone Perrotta, who were still on holiday, as well as Argentinean international Leandro Cufre and Samuel Kuffour of Ghana.

Mido came on for Shabani Nonda in the 61st minute.

The 23-year-old Egyptian international joined Roma from French side Marseille in 2004 but failed to impress or secure a starting place with the Italian capital side.
