Zidan back in Egypt's squad for Uruguay friendly

Egypt coach Hassan Shehata has named a 27-man squad for the international friendly game against Uruguay on the 16th of August in Alexandria.

Shehata has recalled Werder Bremen forward Mohamed Zidan after his impressive performance with the German giants in the pre-season friendlies.

The list also included Europe based-players such as Feyenoord goalkeeper Sherif Ekrami, Konyaspor defender Abdul-Zaher Al-Saqqa, Strasbourg's Ahmed Abou-Mosallam, PAOK defender Amir Azmi and Anderlecht midfielder Ahmed Hassan.

Ahli quartet Mohamed Abou-Treika, Mohamed Barakat, Emad Al-Nahhas and Ahmed Al-Sayed didn't make the squad due to injuries.

Egypt's last game was an international friendly against Spain last June. Egypt lost the game 2-0.

Goalkeepers: Essam Al-Hadari (Ahli), Mostafa Kamal (ENPPI), Sherif Ekrami (Feyenoord), Ali Hegazi (Suez Cement).

Defenders: Abdul-Zaher Al-Saqqa (Konyaspor, Turkey), Wael Gomaa (Ahli), Hani Saied, Ahmed Fathi (both Ismaili), Amir Azmi (PAOK, Greece), Tamer Abdul-Wahab (Zamalek), Mahmoud Fathallah (Ghazl Mahalla), Ahmed Abou-Mosallam (Strasbourg, France), Ahmed Al-Muhammadi (ENPPI).

Midfielders: Hosni Abd-Rabou (Ismaili), Sherif Al-Beyalli (Arab Contractors), Moetazbellah Mohamed 'Eno' (Zamalek), Mohamed Nagi 'Geddo' (Ittihad), Ahmed Hassan (Anderlecht, Belgium), Ahmed Eid, Abdul-Salam Nagah (Harras Al Hodoud), Mohamed Shawki (Ahli).
