Egyptian Higher Council of Sport (HCS) have appointed a new board of directors for Zamalek, headed by the club's former treasurer Mamdouh Abbas.

Hazem Fawzi was named vice-president and Yehia Helmi became the new treasurer. The new board also includes eight members.

The HCS suspended former chairman Mansour after the tribunal saga that paralleled last season's Egyptian Cup final between Ahli and Zamalek.

But Mansour was expected to restore office due to a ruling by an Egyptian court.

The HCS said they executed the court's ruling but new developments forced them to sack Mansour's board.

"We had no choice but to sack the board after eight members handed their resignation," the HCS said in a statement on Wednesday.

"Mansour's actions, which are totally unacceptable, were another reason behind the decision."

Mansour, a former judge and MP, said he will sue the HCS to return back to Zamalek presidency.
