"Zidan has been out of the team's training for the past two days through injury," Bremen coach Thomas Schaaf told the club's official website.
"And it's definite that the player will miss Bremen's season opener against Hannover on Sunday."
Egypt coach Hassan Shehata called the German-based striker for the first time since he was dropped from Egypt's African Cup of Nations winning squad.
But the Zidan's injury seems to have ended his chances of playing against Uruguay on August 16th.
The Austrian coach said that Zidan is likely to be back from injury and be ready for Bremen's clash against Bayer Leverkusen on August 19th.
Zidan, who spent last season on loan at FC Mainz, is expected to play a major role in Bremen's new campaign after he impressed during his participation in the pre-season German League Cup.
