The doctors at Ghazl Mahalla Company hospital, who managed to resuscitate Al-Ashram, said that the player's vital organs had ceased to function due to a drastic drop in his blood pressure.

Al-Ashram is currently stable but remains at the Intensive Care Unit at the hospital.

He is the second Egyptian player to collapse on the pitch in leass than a week.

Ahli defender Mohamed Abdul-Wahab passed away on Thursday from a heart attack while training.

FilGoal.com's correspondent in Mahalla has learned that the player was suffering from exhaustion as he arrived in Mahalla after a day-long road trip without eating all day.

The player, who joined Mahalla from ENPPI in the close season, hid that fact from Mahalla's coaching staff and insisted that he plays in the exhibition game.
