Tersana have signed veteran striker Hossam Hassan on a one-year contract for 400,000 EGP, the Egyptian club said.

Hassan has been officially unveiled in a press conference late on Monday and posed for photographers with his new number nine shirt.

The 40-year-old talisman announced early in August that he joined Zamalek after signing with former president Mortada Mansour.

Mansour, though, failed to restore office before the Egyptian transfer window closed on August 10th and the move collapsed.

Tersana offered Hassan a deal after the Egyptian Football Association allowed the club to register replacements for their late players Rami Gomaa and Ahmed Wahid who passed away in a car crash last week.

Tersana are fourth from bottom with two points from four games and coach Farouk Gaafar hopes Hassan's arrival will help his side improve their standing.

Hassan and his twin Ibrahim joined Zamalek from arch-rivals Ahli from 2000 to 2004 and he scored 54 goals in 107 matches in all competitions.

He helped the team win three Egyptian League titles, the Egyptian Cup, the African Champions League and the African Super Cup.

The former Egypt captain departed to Masri where he played for two seasons but failed to win a single title.

But his good displays earned him a place in the national team squad that won the African Cup of Nations earlier in 2006.

Hassan, who is Egypt's most capped player of all-time, was also a member of the squad that won the title back in 1986.

He is also the second best scorer in the Egyptian League history, finding the net 162 goals with Ahli, Zamalek and Masri, only eight goals behind Hassan Al-Shazly, Tersana's icon in the 60s.
