The club did not state the reason behind Meteb's omission from the 20-man squad that left to Algeria on Thursday morning.
Ahli will also be without recovering duo Mohamed Barakat and Gilberto based on their medical reports.
Jose also excluded winger Ahmed Sedik from the squad.
However, Ahli assistant coach Hossam Al-Badri insists his team will go for the win despite the numerous absences.
"We're going to Algeria to beat Kabylie," Al-Badri insisted.
Ahli secured passage to the semi-finals and are leading their African Champions League Group A with 10 points, 1 point ahead of Sfaxien of Tunisia who play their last game against Asante Kotoko.
"We have to win so we can stay atop the group and play the final game (if we advance) on home soil," said Al-Badri.
