The dominance of Arab teams in the 2006 AFC Cup continued as Bahraini side Al-Muharraq, Lebanese champions Al-Nejmeh and Jordanian clubs Al-Faisali, Al-Wehdat reached the semi-finals.

AFC Cup holders Al-Faisali edged past Xiangxue Sun Hei's of Hong Kong 5-4 in a penalty shootout after both legs ended in a 1-1 draw.

Faisali's win set-up a local clash with rivals Al-Wehdat who produced a 5-0 drubbing of Tampines Rovers of Singapore on aggregate.

Elsewhere, finalists Al-Nejmeh held on to a goalless home draw against Selangor of Malaysia to advance to the last-four stage, courtesy of a 1-0 away win they registered in the first-leg in Kuala Lumpur.

Al-Nejmeh will face Muharraq who overcame a 1-0 home defeat to beat Al-Nassr of Oman 3-2 in the second-leg.

The first-leg of the semi-finals will take place on September 26th while the return leg will be played on October 17th.
