Ruud Van Nistelrooy has been confirmed out of Real Madrid squad facing Dynamo Kiev, with Brazilian star Ronaldo called up to cover his absence, Spanish newspaper Marca reported on Monday.

The Dutch striker has been granted permission from the club to pull out from the camp because his wife is expecting a baby, the paper added.

Van Nistelrooy's surprising exit prompted coach Fabio Capello to include Ronaldo in the squad for the first time since he underwent a knee injury mid July.

Capello said earlier this month that Ronaldo has to lose more weight before playing but he was forced to summon the 30-year-old striker before his duo comeback against Atletico Madrid next week.

Real Madrid are placed third in Group E with no points after losing to Lyon 2-0 in their group opener.

They top Dynamo who were crushed by Steaua Bucharest 4-1 in the same group.
