Captain Raul Gonzales scored his first domestic goal in a year to give Real Madrid a 1-1 draw with city rivals Atletico Madrid on Sunday in the Spanish League.

Raul, who was dropped from Spain's squad preparing for Sweden game in Euro 2008 qualifiers, drilled the ball home eight minutes from the interval to put the hosts level.

Mista had given Atletico the lead in the sixth minute after being set-up by Maxi Rodriguez.

Real lost defender Sergio Ramos in the 62nd minute after picking a second yellow card for a harsh challenge on Atletico skipper Fernando Torres.

The result put Real third with 11 points, trailing leaders Barcelona, who beat Atelic Bilbao 3-1 on Saturday, with two points.

Atletico Madrid remained one spot and one point behind their neighbors.

They looked on their way to the first win at the Santiago Bernabeu after just six minutes when Mista received Rodriguez's headed pass to fire the ball past Iker Casillas.

Raul registered his first goal in La Liga since last October when he knocked a Jose Mari Guti cross home to beat keeper Leo Franco.

Ramos, who collected a first yellow card for a handball earlier in the game, was handed his second caution two minutes past the hour mark for obstructing the flying Torres.

But Ramos' former side, Sevilla, continued their impressive run this year as they beat Getafe 1-0 and held on to second place.

Luis Fabiano posted the winner in the 31st minute as Sevilla collected the 12th point from five games.
