African and Egyptian champions Ahli decided on Tuesday against penalizing manager Manuel Jose over his indecent gesture during ASEC Mimosas game in the African Champions League.

A club source speaking on condition of anonymity told FilGoal.com that the Portuguese coach will not even be cautioned or questioned.

The source noted that the Portuguese boss explained himself to assistant coach Hossam Al-Badri and the club board found it sufficient.

Television cameras spotted Jose making an indecent gesture using his arm towards the referee after Ahli scored their second goal.

Only minutes before the goal, Jose was protesting the referee's decision to hand international midfielder Mohamed Shawki a yellow card.

The gesture was repeated over and over on TV, triggering widespread criticism from analysts and fans alike.

The source asserted that neither the referee nor the match commissioner reported the incident and that Jose would not be penalized by African football's governing body CAF.

Ahli's chances in reaching the Champions League final for the second successive year increased after beating ASEC 2-0 at home in the first leg.

Mohamed Abou-Treika and Emad Meteb scored Ahli's goals in the first half.
