Abdul-Wahed Al-Sayed and Ibrahim Saied were attacked by four Zamalek members in the club late on Monday after a heated verbal spat that resulted in hurting the first, FilGoal.com learnt.

International defender Saied was in the middle of an exchange with the members who harassed him while entering the club before Al-Sayed got involved to defend his team mate, eyewitnesses said.

Egypt goalkeeper Al-Sayed was then pelted with a glass bottle that injured his hand and was admitted to a near hospital as he needed stitches, a FilGoal.com correspondent said.

No official report has been released on how bad the injury is.

The club security managed to arrest the attackers and investigations are believed to be under way.

This is the second incident in just 24 hours after sections of the crowd jeered Abdul-Halim Ali and Moetazbellah Mohamed 'Eno' during a 1-1 friendly draw with Police Union Club.

Both players were substituted to avoid being subjected to more abuse.
