Egyptian media reports last week claimed that Ahli’s coach Jose has nominated countryman Vingada to take his place when he leaves the Egyptian champions.
"Ahli is a great club, but it's not my ambition to coach the Egyptian champions," Vingada told FilGoal.com following the Olympic team's win over Gambia in Alexandria.
The Egyptian Olympic team thrashed Gambia 4-0 on Sunday to reach the second qualifying stage of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
"I came to Egypt to coach the Olympic team and help them reach the Beijing Olympics," the Portuguese insisted.
Vingada made it clear that he was not approached by any of Ahli’s officials.
"No one talked to me about taking over Ahli, and even if anyone does, I'll turn them down because I'm under contract until 2008," he explained.
The 53-year-old manager, who took over the Olympic team in July, helped Zamalek win their 11th Egyptian league title when he coached the team in the 2003-2004 season.
