Zamalek dismantle Arab Contractors, Abou-Greisha completes century

Zamalek grabbed their third successive win in the Egyptian League after beating Arab Contractors 2-0 on Tuesday.

An early goal by Ghanaian playmaker Awuley Quaye 'Junior' gave Zamalek the lead before Egypt international striker Amr Zaki secured the win eight minutes past the hour.

The win put Zamalek in second place in the league table with 19 points, just one behind leaders Ismaili.

Arab Contractors are in fifth place on 15 points.

Zamalek were ahead after just 45 seconds when Gamal Hamza capitalized on Hamada Youssef's bad clearance before passing the ball to the on rushing Junior who blasted a powerful drive home.

Zamalek keeper Mohamed Abdul-Monsef had the woodwork to thank for denying Arab Contractors twice after the opener.

In the 17th minute, Moetaz Hamed's cross struck the post before Mohamed Ouda's curling free-kick hit the woodwork in the 32nd minute.

Zaki doubled the lead in the 68th minute when Hamza latched-on to Junior's through pass with only the keeper to beat before passing the ball across to the former ENPPI striker who tapped-in into the empty net.

Elsewhere, veteran striker Mohamed Salah Abou-Greisha scored his 100th goal in the Egyptian League as Ismaili crushed Tanta 3-0 at home.

Abdullah Al-Saied broke the deadlock as early as the fourth minute before Hosni Abd-Rabou added the second in the first-half stoppage time from the penalty spot.

Abou-Greisha completed the rout in the 88th minute from a second spot-kick.
