Angolan international Flavio broke the deadlock early in the first-half before Abou-Treika sealed the victory in the 33rd minute.
The victory placed Ahli in the sixth spot of the league table with 14 points and three games in hand while Mahalla lie third on 15 points.
Mahalla's resistance didn't last too long as in-form Flavio opened the score as early as the sixth minute.
The former Petro Atletico forward rose to head home Tarek Al-Saied's corner-kick past advancing keeper Ibrahim Farag, who was to blame for Ahli's opener.
After conceding the goal, Mahalla adopted a more attacking strategy but failed to impose threat except in very few occasions.
Mohsen Hendawi sent a low drive from a free-kick in the 15th minute but was palmed away by Ahli international keeper Essam Al-Hadari.
Unmarked Emad Meteb almost doubled the lead five minutes later when he connected with Mohamed Barakat's pinpoint cross to head the ball just wide.
Abou-Treika added the second in the 33rd minute when he curled a free-kick from the right flank into the far top corner of the net.
He then had a great opportunity four minutes past the hour mark when he unleashed a brilliant first-timer from the edge of the area but Farag tipped it away.
