After Milan's dismal form in the Serie A which saw them lose three times in their last four games, reports indicated that Ancelotti will not continue in his post beyond this season.

"I wish to thank everyone for the words of appreciation, but I am happy at Roma," Spalletti said.

"I am in total agreement with the club’s management," the former Udinese boss added.

Spalletti took charge of Roma in 2005 to save the club from a period of chaos in which four different managers coached the club in less than a year.

He guided the Capital side to the Italian Cup final against Inter Milan as well as fifth place finish in the Serie A.
