Egypt coach Hassan Shehata has called up uncapped Ahmed Hassan to his side's 20-man squad for the international friendly against South Africa in London on Wednesday.

The Ghazl Mahalla striker was included after his brilliant displays in the Egyptian League put him on top of the scorers list with nine goals.

Shehata has previously named his Europe-based players for the game.

Tottenham duo Ahmed Hossam 'Mido' and Hossam Ghali, Konyaspor's Abdul-Zaher Al-Saqqa, Anderlecht midfielder Ahmed Hassan and PAOK's Amir Azmi were chosen while Werder Bremen forward Mohamed Zidan will miss the game through injury.

Despite Mido's inclusion, his situation is not clear as he is struggling with a problem in his knee cartilage.

He will undergo a medical examination to determine his ability to take part in the game, which will take place in Brentford's venue Griffin Park

Zamalek defender Ibrahim Saied is set to make his first competitive action with the national team since the African Cup of Nations.
