"The display in the second-half wasn't good because of the many substitutions, but overall we played a fine match," Gharib told FilGoal.com.
Emad Meteb scored early in the first-half to help Egypt edge South Africa 1-0 in an international friendly game in London on Wednesday.
It is the first friendly win for Egypt since the African Cup of the Nations triumph as the Pharaohs lost twice to Spain and Uruguay.
"I'm happy with the first victory since the African Cup. One of the most positives in the game that the players are getting used to play in different atmospheres," the former Egypt Olympic team coach added.
Meanwhile, Gharib revealed the technical staff is looking for an alternative team to face instead of Kuwait, who canceled the friendly match which was due to take place in December.
