The Egyptian giants made an official bid worth $500,000 for the services of the talismanic player, but the offer was turned down by ASEC, Ahli marketing director Adli Al-Qaeyi told FilGoal.com.
"ASEC want to sell Ya Konan to a European club," said Al-Qaeyi.
The Ivorian team has a deal with Premiership side Charlton Athletic who are reportedly interested in the player.
But Ya Konan's international cap handicap could halt his move to England, opening the door for the player to move to another European country on loan.
Ya Konan finished as joint top-scorer in this year's African Champions League competition and helped his team reach the semi-finals where they were ousted by eventual champions Ahli.
