The Cairo giants told 'Four Steps Football Management', who first offered the 23-year-old a move to England, in a letter obtained by FilGoal.com that they are willing to negotiate Zaki's deal should the sports marketing agency get a proxy from the club.
Although neither Zamalek nor the agency officially announced the interested club or the possible fees, FilGoal.com can reveal that Zaki is targeted by Manchester City who are willing to pay up to $4 million.
An agency official told FilGoal.com that a representative will open talks with Zamalek later this week in Cairo after getting the requested proxy.
Zaki signed for Zamalek in the summer from Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow whom he joined for a short spell after helping Egypt win the African Cup of Nations in February.
He became Zamalek's star this season so far, scoring six goals in the league and netting another one in the Arab Champions League.
Zaki's deal would ease Zamalek's financial crisis that left several players unpaid in the last few months.
