Liverpool produced a comfortable 2-0 win over top Group C rivals PSV Eindhoven in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.

Dutch international Dirk Kuyt dished out two assists to Seven Gerrard and Peter Crouch respectively to score Liverpool's goals.

The win secured Liverpool's place on top of Group C with 13 points, three ahead of PSV who booked second place.

In a rare incident, Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez had to make three forced substitutions after Xabi Alonso, Mark Gonzalez and Jermaine Pennant left the pitch injured.

The first-half would have gone unnoticed if it wasn't for Gerrard's goal.

The England co-captain latched on to a smart pass from Kuyt and unleashed a powerful right-footer past PSK keeper Gomes in the 65th minute.

One minute before the final whistle Crouch added Liverpool's second.

Substitute Luis Garcia sent a curving cross to Kuyt at the far post which the Dutch ace headed back to Crouch in the goal mouth, only for the lanky striker to nod home.

In France, Bordeaux grabbed their first victory of the group after beating Galatasaray 3-1.

Alejandro Alonso, Lilian Laslandes and Julien Faubert scored for the French side while Junichi Inamoto scored Galatasaray's consolation goal.

The win earned Bordeaux a UEFA Cup spot and eliminated the Turkish side who lie fourth with a single point.
