Al-Saqqa, who is currently playing for Turkish side Konyaspor, has cited personal reasons for his occupying thought.
"I miss my family," said the 32-year-old defender told FilGoal.com in an exclusive interview.
"It has been very hard for me lately, and I'm seriously considering putting an end for my time in Turkey and returning to Egypt," he added.
Al-Saqqa's family has returned to Egypt since he completed the move from Genclerbirligi to Konyaspor in 2005.
"There are no Arabic or English schools in the city where I'm currently residing, so my children had to return to Egypt to complete their studies," the former Mansoura player said.
But Al-Saqqa did not rule out a return to his old team Genclerbirligi.
"Genclerbirligi is located in Ankara, and if I rejoin the team I could be reunited with my family," he said. "It's another option."
The two-time African Cup of Nations winner with Egypt in 1998 and 2006, revealed other offers that he received lately.
"I received an offer from one of the top teams in Saudi Arabia, and another from Turkish first division side Vastel Manisa Spor," said Al-Saqqa.
"But I'd rather return to Egypt or Ankara."
Al-Saqqa captained his team in their 1-0 victory over Manisa Spor over the weekend. His team currently holds tenth place in the league table.
