Internacional suffered a crushing 4-1 defeat to Goias in their final Brazilian league match on Saturday before leaving to Japan for the 2006 FIFA Club World Cup (CWC).

The Copa Libertadores winners are set to leave to Japan on Tuesday in a bid to succeed compatriots Sao Paulo as CWC champions.

The result means Internacional finishes the Brazileirao in second place with 69 points, eight points behind champions Sao Paulo.

Internacional, who received a first round bye in the CWC, will kick-off their campaign on December 13th.

They will face the winner from the match between Ahli and Auckland City FC.
