Fathi could be heading to Reading in January
Egyptian international Ahmed Fathi received an official offer to join Premier League side Reading in January, Ismaili club president Yehia Al-Koumi said on Sunday.

"We received an official offer from Reading for the services of Fathi," Al-Koumi told reporters on Sunday.

Al-Koumi said the Premiership club's offer was lucrative but refused to reveal further details.

"We are seriously considering the offer," added Al-Koumi.

Fathi is not the only Egyptian that caught the eye of Reading.

The newly promoted Premiership club is currently being linked to PAOK Salonika defender Amir Azmi and Ahli's star playmaker Mohamed Abou-Treika.

Reading are in sixth place in the Premiership table on 25 points.

On another hand, Al-Koumi sounded his backing for Ismaili's coaching staff despite the team's disappointing results.

"The team managed to come back and hold Harras Al-Hodoud after falling behind," Al-Koumi said.

Ismaili are in second place in the Egyptian league table on 28 points, one point behind leaders Ahli.

"The difference between us and Ahli isn't big, we just have to maintain the team's stability," he added.
