Ismailia-Yasser Al-Sherif: Ismaili club has opened negotiations with Brazilian coach Carlos Cabral to replace Dutchman Mark Wotte who quit on Saturday.

Ismaili officials had initially targeted former Harras Al-Hodoud manager Helmi Toulan after Wotte ended his contract, on mutual consent with Ismaili, for personal reasons.

However, talks with Toulan reached a dead after both sides failed to reach an agreement on the financial matters.

But Toulan claimed the problem was administrative rather than financial.

“I didn’t want a team football supervisor,” Toulan said in an interview with Dream TV.

“They insisted Sabri Al-Menyawi would stay on as team supervisor, while I suggested he takes on the role of administrator,” he said. “But they refused.”

Cabral is no stranger to Egyptian football.

He guided Zamalek to the local and African Champions League titles in 2002-2003.
