Saudi giants' coach Dimitri Davidovic is targeting Abou-Treika to replace Slovenian midfielder Milenko Acimovic, whose abilities didn’t convince the Belgian boss.

One month ago, Ittihad Jeddah officials said they were interested in signing the Egypt international midfielder on a six-month loan deal but Ahli demanded delaying the negotiations until after the FIFA Club World Cup (CWC).

Ahli marketing director Adli Al-Qaeyi told FilGoal.com at that time the club may accept selling the influential midfielder after the end of the CWC.

Abou-Treika excelled during the CWC, finishing as the tournament's top scorer with three goals to lead the African Champions to third place.
