Zamalek center-back Ibrahim Saied, who has been out of action recently, may be called up for the Cairo derby on Saturday, assistant coach Moatamed Gamal said.

Starting defenders Amr Al-Safti and Tamer Abdul-Wahab will miss the game through suspension while Mahmoud Mahmoud is doubtful due to injury.

Wael Al-Qabani and Tunisian stopper Yamin Ben Zekri are the only players available against Ahli and calling up Saied might be an option to fill the void, Gamal told reporters.

Saied said he wants to leave Zamalek in January after falling out with Zamalek's former coaching staff.

After sacking manager Manuel Cajuda and his assistant Ahmed Ramzi, Saied said he is ready to play against Ahli if caretaker boss Mahmoud Saad called him up for the game.

But the Egyptian international stressed that he would only play this game before heading to England or Turkey where he has offers from unnamed clubs.

If Saied won't feature on Saturday, Saad may depend on youth-team defender Walid Qandil or deploy midfielder Ahmed Abdul-Raouf in the back line.
