Ismaili vice president Ibrahim Ashour told FilGoal.com on Monday that the club accepted the English offer because Fathi was keen on moving to Europe.
Though, Sheffield United didn't issue an official statement concerning the move.
The 22-year-old right back will appear for the last time with Ismaili during Ahli game on January 7th before traveling to England.
Fathi went through a two-week trial period at Sheffield alongside Zamalek's Ibrahim Saied but the latter failed to impress.
He will be the third Egyptian player to join the Premiership after Ahmed Hossam 'Mido' and Hossam Ghaly, who play for Tottenham Hotspur.
