RVP on target again for Arsenal

Arsenal captain Thierry Henry hailed his striking partner Robin van Persie, saying that he is one of England's best players.

Van Persie scored twice on Tuesday and Henry and Justin Hoyte added another two as Arsenal coasted 4-0 past Charlton.

"He's shown ever since he arrived here that he is a scorer of great goals," Henry was quoted as saying by BBC Sport.

"He has the ability to be one of the best players in the league. He has matured a lot and he does stuff in training that I have rarely seen."

The Dutchman's first goal was from the spot and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said that Henry himself decided that Van Persie should take it.

"He (Van Persie) is on the list of penalty-takers and only the captain can decide if someone else is to take it," Wenger said.

"Thierry is number one, Robin is number three and Thierry gave it to him."

Tuesday's brace put Van Persie at the top of Arsenal's top scorers list this season with eight goals, one ahead of Gilberto Silva and two clear off Henry.
