Mirko Vucinic scored his first goal for AS Roma to help them edge Siena 1-0 at home on Sunday and keep their Serie A title hopes alive.

The Montenegrin striker, who played instead of injured skipper Francesco Totti, controlled Francesco Tavano's long ball inside the area before slotting home from a tight angle in the 62nd minute.

Roma are second in the Serie A table with 46 points, eight adrift of leaders Inter Milan who face Sampdoria later on Sunday.

Elsewhere, Filippo Inzaghi notched the only goal as AC Milan beat Parma 1-0 at the Giuseppe Meazza.

Inzaghi sealed the precious victory in the 75th minute when he was picked out unmarked by Andrea Pirlo's free-kick before firing home from close range.

The victory put Milan in ninth place with 27 points, three behind the fourth spot which earns UEFA Champions League qualification.
