Ismailia-Yasser Al-Sherif: Frenchman Patrice Neveu has been tipped to replace Sabri Al-Minyawi as head coach of Egyptian club Ismaili, reports from the costal club suggested on Monday.

A club source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told FilGoal.com that the former Guinea manager is set to arrive in Ismailia on Wednesday to begin negotiations with Ismaili officials.

Ismaili’s board have apparently reconsidered keeping Al-Minyawi in the hot seat after a series of disappointing results in the league campaign left them 11 points adrift of leaders Ahli.

Al-Minyawi, who was initially appointed caretaker coach following the departure of Mark Wotte in December, was granted the head coach position after Ismaili’s crushing 3-0 win over Ahli last month.

Ismaili banked only eight points from five matches since the start of the second half of the season under Al-Minyawi.

Neveu helped Guinea reach the quarter-finals at the 2006 African Cup of Nations that was held in Egypt.

The 51-year-old was set to coach the Togolese national team in January, but his appointment was blocked by the Minister of Sport in the West African country.
