Eto'o's refusal to play in Barca's last game against Santander was followed by a war of words between the Cameroonian, his manager and teammate Ronaldinho.
However, the duo embraced during training yesterday to calm the mood surrounding the Camp Nou and Captain Carles Puyol brushed aside rift speculation in news conference afterwards.
"We had a meeting between the captains of the team (Puyol and Xavi) and then spoke to Ronaldinho and Eto'o because it was an important enough matter to talk over together," Puyol said in a press conference on Wednesday.
"What happened is that Ronnie's comments were misinterpreted.
"When they both met today it was clear that Ronnie did not want to criticize Eto'o. Eto'o also has no problem with Rijkaard.
"I can assure you that the whole matter has now been solved.
"People think that there is a time bomb in the dressing room, but that isn't true. Rijkaard has got the team under control.
"Eto'o has a good relationship with the rest of the group and the atmosphere is good," the Barca skipper said.
Sporting director Txiki Begiristain confirmed that the problem was solved and that no action will be taken against Eto'o.
''Rijkaard has asked us not to sanction him because he has confidence in the team's ability to manage itself," Begiristain told Marca.
"He is happy that everything has been resolved so quickly. There had just been a communication problem after the end of the match against Racing."
