AC Milan defender Alessandro Nesta insisted on Thursday he has no intention to quit the club, rebuffing rumors suggesting that he may return to his former team Lazio.

"I am staying at Milan for four more years," Nesta told Italian paper La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"Moving back to Lazio would make no sense now that was a wonderful part of my life. But I am still young and I want to play at the highest levels, preferably in the Champions League."

The Italian international defender was linked with a move to Lazio after suffering a string of injuries which limited his number of appearances for Milan.

Meanwhile, Nesta, who has been on the sidelines since November due to a shoulder injury, revealed he will be back to action on the 26th of February.
