The Dutch coach doesn't feel comfortable any more at Barca following his bust-up with the club's Cameroonian striker Samuel Eto'o.
Eto'o hit out at Rijkaard for saying that he refused to come on as a late substitute in Barcelona's 2-0 victory over Racing Santander in the Primera Liga on Sunday.
Brazilian superstar Ronaldinho was also involved in the dispute when he accused Eto'o of being selfish, saying that the former Real Mallorca front man does not work for the group.
Rijkaard will allege serious personal problems in order to leave the Catalan giants in the summer, AS said according to 'very well informed sources'.
The former Holland manager's contract runs out in June 2009 but it includes a clause that would allow him to depart whenever he wishes to do so.
Although the Rijkaard-Eto'o saga has been apparently resolved, it left a tense atmosphere in the dressing room but leading players in the team, Xavi and skipper Carles Puyol, played down the significance of the rift.
Rijkaard could replace Carlo Ancelotti at AC Milan, the club where he enjoyed an outstanding spell as a player, AS added.
Since taking charge of the Spanish giants in 2003, Rijkaard led Barcelona to two Primera Liga titles and one UEFA Champions League triumph.
