Abdul-Halim Ali struck home in the second-half to help Zamalek grab a 1-0 away victory over Algerian side Ahli Bordj and secure their place in the Arab Champions League (ACL) semi-finals.

The 33-year-old striker tapped-in into the empty net in the 53rd minute after Tarek Al-Sayed’s low cross from the left-flank evaded the keeper.

The Cairo giants held on to their lead to secure a precious victory despite Bordj’s late efforts to snatch the equalizer.

The victory maintained Zamalek's position on top of Group A with ten points, four ahead of second-placed Ahli Jeddah who face Qadsia later on Monday.

Ahli Bordj are third with five points while Qadsia lie at the bottom on four points.

Zamalek next face Ahli Jeddah on the 13th of March in Saudi Arabia.
