Ahli Bordj coach Mustapha Biskri has blamed Jordanian referee Salem Mahmoud for his team's defeat against Zamalek in the Arab Champions League on Monday, Algerian newspaper Al-Khabbar reported.

Egyptian giants Zamalek had snatched a 1-0 away victory in an ill-tempered ACL quarter-final game in Algeria.

Biskri told reporters after the game that if it weren't for the referee, his team would have ended up on top.

The Algerian manager said that Salem made two huge mistakes.

The first was disallowing a goal for his side in the 30th minute and the second was counting Zamalek's winning goal, which Biskri argues was from an offside position.

Referee Salem ejected Biskri from the game for objecting Zamalek's goal.

Meanwhile, Zamalek boss Henri Michel said he was proud of his team's performance and satisfied with the result.

Zamalek's victory secured their place in the semi-finals of the ACL as they top their Group A with 10 points.

Ahli Bordj on the other hand were eliminated from the competition after Ahli Jeddah beat Qadsia later in the day to clinch their last four berth.
