The Mainz player has eclipsed top strikers like Miroslav Klose, Kevin Kuranyi and Roy Makaay in the second half of the Bundesliga with his six goals in five matches.
However, the Egyptian international said that his dreams were much bigger than just that.
“I want to play in one of the biggest leagues in the world,” Zidan told German sports magazine Die Bild.
“My dream would be to play for a team like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester United or Chelsea after 3 or 4 years,” the 25-year-old added.
Zidan, who overwhelmed German league pundits since joining Mainz from Werder Bremen in January, said that he owed his great form to coach Jurgen Klopp.
“Klopp is like my father, my friend and my mentor,” said Zidan. “He treats me very well; no coach has ever treated me this good.”
Since Zidan’s arrival, Mainz have managed to bag 16 points from six games, moving them from the relegation zone to 10th spot in the Bundesliga table.
“I said from day one that we will not be relegated,” he insisted.
Mainz next take on Alemania Aachen on Friday.
