National team director Samir Adli told FilGoal.com that the technical staff has chosen Tottenham duo Ahmed Hossam 'Mido' and Hossam Ghaly, Mainz's Mohamed Zidan, Anderlecht midfielder Ahmed Hassan, Sheffield United's Ahmed Fathi and Rizespor defender Ibrahim Saied.
Stopper Amir Azmi, who plays for Saudi Arabia outfit Al-Shabab, was also included in the squad.
Egypt will face Mauritania on the 25th of March in Group B of the African Cup qualifiers.
The Pharaohs are in charge of the group with four points, one ahead of second-placed Mauritania.
Meanwhile, CAF has turned down Zamalek's request to register Mahmoud Abdul-Razeq 'Shikabala' in the team's squad for the African Champions League.
Egyptian Football Association 'EFA' spokesman Medhat Shalabi told FilGoal.com that CAF's refusal was because the 31st January deadline has passed, adding that no team can add new players until the end of the competition's round of 16.
