Ahli assistant coach Hossam Al-Badri told FilGoal.com that Barakat will not be rushed into action against Masri in the Egyptian League on Wednesday but will be included in the squad facing Highlanders of Zimbabwe in the CAF Champions League four days later.
The 30-year-old midfielder underwent a knee surgery in Germany last year but suffered a setback against Sfaxien in the Champions League group stage in October.
He then conducted a rehabilitation program in Germany which lasted for two months before being declared fit recently.
"Barakat's return is a huge boost for us, we are waiting for the recovery of other key players like Mohamed Abou-Treika," Al-Badri added.
Meanwhile, Angolan striker Flavio Amado is set to play against Masri after medical examinations allayed fears of a possible foot injury.
