Juventus boss Didier Deschamps has slammed France coach Raymond Domenech following the latter's snub to Juventus striker David Trezeguet ahead of the Euro 2008 qualifiers against Lithuania and Austria.

Domenech justified his decision by claiming that being in the Serie B is not enough for Trezeguet to be selected for Les Bleus roster despite missing strikers Thierry Henry and Louis Saha through injury

But the former France captain believes that a player like Trezeguet deserves more respect from Domenech.

"He can't say he is not choosing a player because he plays in Serie B and that he hasn't adapted to the level the national team play at. It is an offence to Juventus and the player," Deschamps was quoted as saying by La Gazzetta dello Sport on Monday.

"Trezeguet is at the same level today as he was when he was in Serie A. Serie B is a hard league, and of a very high standard.

"Domenech said at the start of the season that the fact we are playing in Serie B does not reduce the chances of David being picked for Les Bleus. He has changed his opinion."

The former world champion affirmed Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger's recent criticism to the French national team coach over his lack of communication with club managers.

"He is the only national-team boss who never calls coaches of the clubs," He added.

"Wenger and Houllier (Lyon coach) have already expressed the same opinion as me.

"Roberto Donadoni, for example, still calls me before picking his squad for Italy games, so he knows how the players he has chosen are doing."
