Ahli playmaker Mohamed Abou-Treika traveled to Germany on Tuesday to undergo scans in order to determine the exact reasons behind the pain he suffers.

"Abou-Treika flew to Germany, he is accompanied with the team's doctor Ehab Ali," Ahli assistant boss Hossam Al-Badri told FilGoal.com.

The Egypt international midfielder couldn't continue Ahli's training session on Thursday after he suffered a hip pain and was rested for the Cairo giants' CAF Champions League game against Highlanders three days later.

Abou-Treika hasn't participated with the Egyptian and African champions since mid January when he limped off the pitch in a league match against Asyut Petroleum due to a groin injury.

He suffered two setbacks on his way to recovery, the unfortunate successive incidents which prompted Ahli administration to treat him abroad.

"Abou-Treika will stay in Germany for three days where he will be examined by three doctors," Al-Badri added.
