Ahli striker Flavio Amado scored twice to lead Angola to a thrashing 6-1 victory over weak opponents Eritrea in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers on Sunday.

The in-form frontman grabbed the opener before two goals from Pedro Mantorras and Ze Kalanga put the game beyond doubt at the interval.

Flavio struck home again in the second-period while Paulo Figueiredo and Antonio Mendonca were also on the scoresheet to complete the rout. Tenese Shimongwe netted Eritrea's consolation.

Angola lie on top of Group F with nine points, five ahead of Eritrea who occupy second place.

Ivory Coast went three points clear on top of Group A following a 3-0 away victory over Madagascar.

Steve Gohouri and Aruna Dindane scored in the first-half before Amara Diane wrapped up the win eight minutes from time.

The Elephants are on top with six points, three ahead of Gabon while Madagascar, who are yet to grab any positive result, remained at the bottom with no points.

Portsmouth striker Nwankwo Kanu handed German coach Berti Vogts a winning start after notching the only goal in Nigeria's 1-0 win over Uganda.

Lesotho registered their first win after beating Niger 3-1, thanks to a brace from Refiloe Potse and a goal from Mpitsa Marai's. Daouda Kamilou netted Niger's consolation.

Faisal Agab scored twice to help Sudan edge past Mauritius 2-1 and revive their qualification hopes.

Sudan are second in Group D with six points, just one adrift of leaders Tunisia who crushed Seychelles 3-0 earlier on Saturday.
