Egyptian midfielder Wael Riad insists that his contract with Austrian club Grazer AK includes a relegation release clause that allows him to leave the club at the end of the season.

Riad revealed his frustration after his team was hit with a massive 28-point penalty by the Austrian Bundesliga for financial reasons which moved them closer to being relegated.

"I was really disappointed by the 28-point deduction which dumped us to bottom of the table with minus one point after we managed to collect 27 points from 25 games in the league," Riad told FilGoal.com.

"We are almost certain for relegation now because we trail Sturm Graz by 20 points and we just have 11 games remaining, it's practically impossible."

The former Ahli midfielder confirmed his right to exit GAK at the end of the current season in case the club is relegated.

"My contract includes a relegation release clause that allows me to leave the club at the end of the season if we are demoted," he added.

"If that’s the case, then I will leave GAK before my contract expires in January 2008."

Riad expressed his willingness to return to his former club Ahli.

"Ahli are at the top of my priority list, but if they are not interested in me returning, then I will have to ponder other available options whether in Egypt or abroad."

Riad, 26, joined GAK in January after being consistently out of favor at Ahli which rarely gave the Egyptian international a first team role.
