Abdullah Al-Jamaan (24) and Ahmed Darwish (31) put Ahli Jeddah in front but the home side responded through a brace from Ibrahim Al-Meghnem (68, 84).
Tunisian international defender Khaled Badra could have killed the match at the 54th minute but he failed to score from the spot. Ahli Jeddah Saheb El Abdullah was also sent off just two minutes before the final whistle.
After the match, Ahli Jeddah could only accumulate 27 points, thirteen behind Al-Wehda who are at the second place of the table which means the latter are now sure to be among the elites, in the next stage, for the first time of their history.
This achievement will give them the opportunity to play in the regional competitions would it be in Asia or the Arab Champions League.
It is worth mentioning that Hilal and Al-Wehda secured their places while Al-Shabab, Ittihad Jeddah and Ahli Jeddah are still battling for the other two spots.
